I was teetering toward the Super Nintendo also with Earthbound, MK2/MK3 Ultimate, and Super Mario World. The roaming around in Super Mario 64 and flying non-stop with the birdman suit in Pilotwings 64 won me over with the N64 in the end though.

Could do this all day...

Exactly. It's in no way a bad thing for anyone. We'll see the way that it's implemented. It's the first step. r/Android is rearing its head here. Let's enjoy this for the moment

Glad that you emphasized Europe. Here in the states where iMessage is dominant, it'll make a difference.

At the end of the day it's not a bad thing. I'm also waiting for details with compatibility to be ironed out, but it's a start.

Just surprised at the whole negative energy with this announcement considering this was a "when pigs fly" or "when hell freezes over" sorta thing. Again, it's a start and hopefully Google opens it up (even if forcibly by the EU) down the road.

Samsung Messages is the only other, right?

It's happening!!!

Same. I don't even mind Tensor 2 in it. It runs fine enough and I never had any overheating. It's a beautiful piece of hardware.

My main gripe is with how heavy it is. It's tiring having to hold it for extended periods when I mostly use the outer screen (which is the perfect screen size, but that's a whole other thing). And yeah... watching media on the inner screen with a crease and with the size of the media the same as a normal smartphone... it's just something I looked over before purchasing.

I regret buying it also. But... I would have also regretted buying the Galaxy Fold, OnePlus Open, or any other foldable. Right now, my Pixel Fold just sits in a drawer as an overly expensive backup device while I use a Pixel 8 Pro as my daily. Will likely use the Fold as a trade-in for the Galaxy Ultra in January/February.

Chalk me up as one of the folks that was adamant this was due to an API mismatch.

Yikes. Low benchmarks in the case of everyday Pixel usage isn't a big deal, but prohibiting the installation without reason will make this a bigger deal than it needs to be. And I can't fault users for feeling that way.

Ime Udoka could not gush, though at halftime, on Friday, he might have been tempted. After the Rockets completed the preseason with a 110-104 win against the Miami Heat on Friday, they were too inconsistent, as they had been through the preseason for unqualified raves, and it’s probably not his style, anyway.

When they sputtered, they invited the Heat backups to rally back into the game before pulling away late to top Miami, 110-104, and finish the preseason 4-1.

Rockets rookies Amen Thompson and Cam Whitmore led the Rockets with 15 points apiece, Whitmore scoring 11 in the fourth quarter after a 2 of 12 start. But it was the defense off the bench that took control of the game.

If Monday’s preseason game demonstrated anything, it could be that the Rockets still have plenty of work to do in the final week before the regular season begins and the Rio Grande Valley Vipers will be pretty good again.

At least you acknowledged it. The title of this post should have a misleading tag at best. There's no wonder that no other major outlets have reported on this.

Same. I've paired it wirelessly to one car and wired to the other car. Both have worked seamlessly since getting the phone last week.

No problems here.

The Rockets' defense went from encouraging in the preseason opener to impressive two days later. Against a strong Pelicans team with its starting lineup intact for the preseason, little could mean more to the Rockets search for a turnaround.

The Rockets would love to one day have easier decisions than the next round of contract moves they will make. But even with the overhaul to their roster, the draft choices at the core of their rebuilding will remain under contract for another season.

In less than five minutes, Rockets forward Dillon Brooks might have demonstrated how he earned his reputation for stepping over the line of toughness to excessiveness. It is that reputation, he said, that led to his ejection from his first game with the Rockets.

There were glimpses, but that was enough. Signs of improvement were enough for a first preseason game.

I'm guessing here, but are any of those products on that website both purchasable AND given a guaranteed product support time? Or to make it more specific, has Google ever killed off a phone (Nexus and Pixel years, so 15 years total) prior to its end of support date?

I don't believe they have. Stadia, a non-phone product, is the closest thing. Of course it's not a phone and Google also didn't give a eol date before its release. When it was killed they refunded any purchased games. So I guess the better question is would you be fine with getting a refund in the amount of your purchase of a Pixel 8/Pro if they didn't hold up their end of the bargain?

I know some of the comments in the community are tongue-in-cheek, but if Google were to keep the prior support date or do what they did today by increasing them, folks still wouldn't be happy.

Didn't notice that initially, so thanks for pointing it out.

I really hope that it's not the same. The only thing I can think of is that the Google store mentions 24 hr battery life with footnote that mentions certain features being turned on may lower battery life. The leak today says 24 hr battery life with AOD turned on, which gives me hope. I may get disappointed come 10/4.

If it's free watch with the purchase of an 8 Pro as rumors indicate, I won't be disappointed for long.
