Yes, when talking about the future of the technology I mistyped.

The event is starting...
Starting off with a Mac-related video showing off how people use their Macs.
I love it. They used the Apple logo as the Moon.

That would be way more tempting. I stoped purchasing iMacs because of the screen resolution and size.

A Spaceballs community is a great idea! I love the movie.

Thank you. A message will be posted soon in the Android community. Good catch to make sure everyone is informed.

Thanks for spreading the word. No one has claimed any of the community names so we’ll be running a script to purge the inactive ones. They had more than 300, so I’m glad I don’t have to remove them manually.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

The Kombuchawow account has been banned for community squatting and being inactive.

If there is no activity in a community, it will be purged so that others can use the name.

If you would like to claim one of the communities, please reply to this comment.

Hello everyone. We’re looking for some volunteers to help moderate the Games community.

Requirements:

  1. A love for games.
  2. Ability to help address reported community issues.
  3. Review post and comments to ensure no violations of the community rules. (We don’t expect you to read each comment word for word. Just checking the site 2 - 3 times a day for a few minutes at minimum.)

If you would like to help out, please us know. Respond to this post or message me if you’re interested in moderating.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

The time commitment would not be more than checking the community at least 3 times daily and helping to respond to reported violations.

Thanks to everyone that responded to fill the second moderator spot outside the US. I received more than a dozen messages and will respond back to each one within the next 24 hrs to either add you to a future community moderators list or schedule a quick onboarding to get you started.

We are already getting close to 3K, so I may select more than two moderators.

Again thank you.

Update # 1:
A big thank you to everyone that's volunteered. We have one more spot open for anyone in a different time zone other than the US. We're looking for anyone in Europe or Asia willing to volunteer. Again thanks!

*Hello everyone. I can’t believe the growth we’ve had not only on Lemmy.world, but in our Apple community. More than 2k in just a few days.

With the growth, I’m asking for volunteers to help moderate the community. If you’re interested, let me know. I’m looking for two community moderators in different time zones.

We already have a great community with active discussions and posts. Let’s keep it up. Again, thank you to everyone that’s joined and welcome!*

I was surprised how well FCP works on the iPad. For some features, it works better than the Mac version. There’s no slowness or stuttering at all. It’s easy to edit videos, and the best feature is the ability to create live drawings. I just started using it to edit 4k videos for my YouTube channel.

When they talked about its uses as a computer, they pretty much implied it would be plugged in, not on battery power. I don't think Apple expects people to use FC Pro on battery power if they don't have to since it only has a 2-hour battery life. I think Final Cut will drain it quickly, as I've been using FC Pro on my iPad, and battery life suffers.

As to your second point, I know it's hard to believe, but not everyone owns a Mac (insert shocked face). If I'm going to pay $3,500, then it better be a stand-alone device. One that I don't need a Mac, iPad, or iPhone to work. For those already in the Apple ecosystem, I would probably only use it as an additional display unless the Vision FC Pro version is a complete redesign to take advantage of "Spacial Computing."

If true, I’m not surprised since they released FC Pro on the iPad. Since the Vision Pro uses the same M2 chip as the iPad Pro, it makes sense.

I’m always amazed at the continuous improvements we get yearly from Apple silicon. I just wish the Mac Studio with the M2 Ultra didn’t cost $5k (the way I would want it configured).

With the update to the Mac Pro, the entire lineup runs on Apple silicon. Will anyone miss the Intel days? Is anyone planning on getting the new 15" MacBook Air or the Mac Studio?

See how I didn't mention the Mac Pro. I have my reasons.
