Quad9 has lost its subsequent legal battle against Sony Music and has consequently blocked the site. However, an appeal has already been filed for the next stage.

This dispute revolves around a court case where Sony Music requested a DNS block, which Quad9 declined.

X probably stands for the idea of his “everything app”.

Switched from Windows to Ubuntu 2.5 years ago, 2 years ago, I tried Arch and stayed with it until now. I tried various desktop environments and window managers, but I always came back to Gnome. It's the most polished and I really like the workflow of it.

Concerning why: Well, Windows is just bad at so many simple things compared to Linux. Yeah, Linux has its problems, but I can see the progress of them being fixed, whilst on Windows you can still find the same issues you could find 15 years ago. Like, WTF. Another major point is privacy. It's no secret that Microsoft is spying on its users. Linux is open source and thus as transparent as it gets.

I also play games on Linux. Occasionally, it needs some tinkering, but about 95% of my Steam library works (most of the time, even with better performance). I also do programming. There's no doubt that Linux is just the superior OS for developers, unless you have very specific needs.

Nowadays, I have no machine left running Windows. And for the moment, I'm not thinking of switching to anything else.

If you search for Migros, Lidl, Coop & Aldi on their Website, Migros and Coop indeed return more results. However, Lidl and Aldi aren't as old as Migros & Coop. Nowadays, they cover them too, of course. You'll sometimes find really cheap products from Lidl and Aldi getting the best score in product tests.

Yes, definitely. If you take your time to read it, you'll save way more than 8.- a month. I don't have any experience with the law advice, as I never had to make use of it (fortunately).

I self-host a Bitwarden instance at home. Passwords are sensitive data, which I do not want to put onto any cloud, where I do not have control over them. I know E2EE is a thing. However, I still have more control with self-hosting. Additionally, E2EE means nothing to me if the client application is proprietary (most password managers are, unfortunately).

  • If you go by car: Why are other modes not an option for you (e.g. public transport)? What would need to be done for you to switch?
  • If you go by public transport: Are you faster than by car?
  • If you go by bike: Are you faster than by car/public transport? Do you still take the bike on rainy days?

In general: How long does your journey take?

Let's hope it stays like that.

Yup, very temporary. Just stopped working too.

You're right. None of the workarounds work any more. Neither the user-agent nor publish.twitter.com nor Nitter. Seems like they also don't want to be indexed by search engines any more.

Nitter and embeds still work at the moment. However, no one knows for how long. As a workaround the user-agent can be changed to "googlebot".
