I know Europeans hate us Americans and I understand why. I've never supported Trump and have fought with my dollar, vote, and time, but I am just too ashamed to show my face in the EU any time soon.

You should absolutely be treating the US government as a hostile entity. Many Americans are also treating it as such, and are organizing emergency preparations (mainly go-bags) for things like martial law, civil war, and being targeted as a result of belonging to a prohibited minority group.
