Personally I prefer Kbin to lemmy; as other have said, we must put into account that kbin is much younger that lemmy, but @ernest has been amazing in managing to keep it all running when the users went basically from 0 to 1000 in a matter of hours!

I don't see anything in the post... Is there an image I am not loading? I literally just see the title and the comments

Thanks to @digitallyfree and her post ( https://kbin.social/m/kbinMeta/t/40257/Introducing-the-Kbeanauts-my-idea-of-a-Kbin-mascot)
I have found the perfect name for all of us: the Kbeanauts!

It's happened multiple times today, I go look into the most recent posts in "all" , I am happily scrolling, when BAM! NSFW.

Now, I have nothing against that type of content itself, but not everyone wants to see it. This is the reason you can disable NSFW content from your feed, but it'll only work if people check the specific mark before posting.

Sorry, just wanted to rant, it's frustrating...

That Reddit will not shut down. It will take the hit and go on and probably make at least some money. Only, it will be a much different place, more like Facebook or Instagram, in that it will be full of ads and less specific information.
It will cease to be a different, often niche space and become just another, more generalized social for a more generalized public.

In short: we, aka the people who migrated, simply are not their intended target anymore.

On the subject, I found @gonzo0815 's post very interesting and more detailed than my summary😅 (link https://kbin.social/m/RedditMigration/t/25185/A-few-thoughts-about-the-blackout-and-the-future-development)

Let's not poison ourself, thinking on "how to make them pay". Let's move on, and enjoy the new internet spaces we are building!

I have seen @hariette's announcement that they are working on an unofficial app for kbin and is accepting volunteers for beta testing.

I am definitely interested, but I have a question: if I enter the beta testing, what would be my responsibilities? I ask before I have never beta tested anything...

Ok here is a very tiny MC from my job!

Where I work, secretaries book appointments for various professionals (I prefer not to give details, you never know). The time slot for each appointment usually is 20 min, but can go up to 30 or down to 15, it depends on how fast a professional is. Secretaries know each of them and book accordingly.

Obviously, the more appointments, the more gain, so one of the 20min professionals started making a fuss that he wanted 15min time slots... The secretaries, knowing he was always running late even with that time slots (he should have been 30, but he had already demanded to be 20 a while back), just smiled and did as he wanted.

Cue him being absolutely slammed during his next shift... He just wasn't fast enough, and clients were loudly complaining about being late... A mess.

Guess who went back to 20 minutes per appointment?

Don't really know what the right way to call it is, but someone/some bot is spamming this post everywhere, even in the comments sections:
ttps://youtube.com/watch?v=IE96LokdvH8 We weren’t in the MLS at 35

EDIT: it even spammed in this comment section

I mean... They basically told us users to accept the changes and we did! We wouldn't be here if we hadn't accepted that the new changes are happening!

P. S. I am so happy to find here on kbin one of my favorite communities!
