Gonna admit my ignorance, I’m not sure exactly what is and using possible with an IPO. I know it can go poorly, and I know stocks can be shorted. I just hope they get no financial success.

Short Reddit on IPO. Give him a good farewell.

I wanna see the current or former patrons of r/WallStreet short Reddit to oblivion on the IPO. Spez should realize that if you piss off a large group, they can hit back when you’re most vulnerable.

I wonder if there are a lot of people, average users, that just aren’t in the know, and will only realize the third party apps are gone when they’re physically gone.

I meant dodgy stuff from downloading software. Damn autocorrect.

I had dodged stuff before when I downloaded software, I’d be weary of anything you give permission to run on your pc. But for movies and music etc, I check what files I’m getting. While this doesn’t eliminate the risk of malware cased in a .mkv, I only download on a Linux VM, and usually first open on MacOS.

Already here. Lol

I set up a vm for torrents so I could seed as much as possible without affecting other things I had to do. I have been seeding for 100 days minimum per torrent. Nothing worse than a torrent with no seeds.

Reddit comment: “Well actually…” straightens fedora

They probably won’t ever stay fully out, since anyone can make an instance, just up to mods and individuals to block them and not federate with obvious natzi communities.

Being pretty new to Lenny, I didn’t find joining hard. Granted I work in IT and technology is my passion and hobby. The biggest thing for me was choosing an instance I wanted to be in long term, that didn’t seem like it was gonna isolate itself from everyone else through defederation (Eg. Beehaw). I like Lenny, especially the people so far, and using the Mlem app it’s a pretty smooth experience, I think federation overall is a new scary concept for regular people.
