Maybe something like Alice in Wonderland based on cards?

That is already a manga. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_in_Borderland
Almost the exact same concept. Have you been stealing other peoples ideas again?

None come to mind but how many classic board game have any lore that could be used as a setting?

Pokémon / yu-hi-oh cards - surely there’s some lore behind them that could be used…

I haven’t read no game no life but the end game seems to be the world is a giant chess board? (Highschool DxD aswell?)

  1. Snakes and ladders - as a dungeon exploration?

  2. risk - as a historic war

  3. poker - as a gambling setting? (Kakegurui [manga] / Kaiji [Manga]?)

  4. game of life - every month the gods roll a dice to decide your fate

  5. monopoly - following rich people as they battle to take over a city? Or real estate agents? (Dragon goes house hunting [manga] / rpg real estate [manga])

  6. Snap - twins are seperated and put into a death match. The first twins to reunite and make it to the exit win.

Note - I haven’t actually read any of the mentioned manga so I am not sure how accurate they are.

Feel free to, unless anyone else steals them first.

I'll be on vacation for the next two weeks and if someone has an idea for a Midweek discussion I would be glad If someone else could answer the call of duty. (Or want to post about non-Japanese LN or even fat novels but fear my vengeful wrath? This is your chance!)

If no one else does I can try if I remember.

Spoilers - Possible Questions

  1. What are the best and worst Manga adaptions from Light Novels?
  2. What makes a good translation? Any series when fan translators from WN beats official LN translations?
  3. Pros & Cons of revolting against NineSword and Myne and installing Gervasio as mod?
  4. If you could only save 3 series which would it be?
  5. Which crossover would you like to see?
  6. Which series would you most like to see an Anime adaption of?
  7. Any Light Novel conspiracy theories? (Bookworm - Myne is actually a combination of all the books she read in her past life / Average Abilities - Mile isn’t actually stupid)
  8. Light Novel ideas? (No promises that they won’t be stolen)
  9. What change would you make to improve a series?
  10. What are the Best/Funniest/Weirdest/Worst illustration you have seen? (Include illustration if possible)

You may also want to either restrict posting or add a temp mod. I have seen some communities getting spammed recently. I don’t know what ani.social is like whether the admins will block the community if it’s spammed and not cleared swiftly.

Is there any board game ones?

I can think of lots where people get taken into a video game but I can’t think of many for board games. (No game no life?)

I always read the afterword at the end. I know some authors give an overview of the story and talk about taking the book to the checkout [So I’m a Spider?]. But it just feels wrong to read it first.

I am not too fussed about afterwords. There are some interesting ones which give extra info about the story or tell us more about the author, and it’s always nice to see them thanking everyone.

But I quite enjoy it when the illustrator gives extra pictures they have done of characters that didn’t get added to the main story [Average Abilities], or little story panels (manga/comics) [Bookworm]

TsukiMichi is one on my list to read.

But at the moment I am struggling to pick up new series.

Didn’t I Say to make my Abilities Average - Volume 3 to 4

I have continued my reread of Average Abilities.

ps: A synopsis in recipe form is genius! My favorite so far.

I tried to get it as a game guide or gaming manual for no game no life but it didn’t generate any good ones.

The FBI was too busy looking for the mass murder Momonga and his subordinates.

I can’t stop generating them now.
