2009 the Xbox 360 Slim had the gpu and cpu dies on a single chip but still separate like with the Wii U. Winchester 360 E is when both chips are combined dies as one. 2017 Microsoft with Xbox One X switched from DDR3 to GDDR5.
Biggest advantage with Apus is simplified cooling(one heatsink), less space taken up on the motherboard, unified memory etc. I believe Apus are the way to go but only concern on the pc/laptop space is to also make memory as part of Apu/Soc secondary board. So swapping to a future faster chip is possible.
