His claim got denied,

So his actions are benign.

This is faaaar too low. The French Revolution was really triggered by famine and people not having enough food.

Not for the one I actually use.

All that says is that you’re a Marxist (which I’m not saying is a bad thing).

You think I’m a lib?

Hahahahaha

Yes, this is the correct answer.

It’s sooo much easier to get used to getting up at 12:00 utc vs 7 am than to deal with all the time zones in our global world.

It’s just a number, you’ll get used to 12 being the “get up time”

One is a regular person taking out a person of huge authority, balancing power.

The other is the biggest authority taking out a smaller one to consolidate power.

I agree with you about sentiment. Idk if actions will be taken but I feel like the CEO shooting did set a certain tone.

Now the question is, will that create further escalating tension or would it be repackage and sold to us as a media trope to show us that “hey, some oligarchs aren’t that bad.”

It’s because in the American zeitgeist, doing horrendous acts made you famous a la 70s murderer style.

Fame from killing evil has never been popular in the US (until now).

Look at the punisher character, if the US did romanticize killing evil, the character wouldn’t be used a lot by cops and authoritarian types.

The doctor was against violence as a principle but he famously uses tons of violence (I guess in the form of trickery) but as a last resort.

House: “fear me, I’ve killed hundreds of time lords”

The Doctor: “fear me, I’ve killed all of them”

I think their issue is everyone getting it. In American culture and Christianity, love must be conditional.

Only correct behaviour would mean you get rewarded/supported.

Their issue isn’t giving it away for free, their issue is not being able to classify certain members of society as a underclass that don’t deserve anything unless they conform to their values.

So it’s about power and control. Universal health care means you have no power over these individuals and what values they live by.

I once tried to explain this to someone Christian, they just called me selfish.
