Why do people keep framing it like it's either genocide or fascism? Do people just give Trump a free pass because he's upfront about letting Isreal go scorched earth on Gaza? It's genocide or genocide and fascism. It doesn't matter who you vote for, America is going to support genocide either way. What you're voting for is either democratic leader supporting genocide or a fascist leader supporting genocide.

They literally do care: https://www.ungeek.ph/2018/09/pinoy-gt-sport-player-disqualified-from-gran-turismo-world-tour-2018-due-to-technicality/

It might not affect most people as they won't get caught, but Sony absolutely cares when you've given them false information. I'd much rather get my refund than be at the mercy of Sony who can be pretty liberal with the suspensions.

You're thinking of the problem with modern solutions in mind. Y2K originates from punch cards where everything was stored in characters. To save space only the last 2 digits of the year because back then you didn't need to store the 19 of year 19xx. The technique of storing data stayed the same for a long time despite technology advancing beyond punch cards. The assumption that it's always 19xx caused the Y2K bug because once it overflows to 00 the system doesn't know if it's 1900 or 2000.

In my mind it was great because it was an animation and execs think anime is dumb, so they won't meddle with it. If they ever make a live action Miles Morales story it's going to suck.

The part where you need 1000 tablets, that’s more than a lifetime supply. If you need that many you’re better off visiting the doctor and fix whatever the issue is.

My wet dream is that when Gabe passes Valve is turned into a cooperative. It wouldn't guarantee that Valve wouldn't turn into a bad company, but it would mean the people at Valve want Valve to be shitty and I just don't see that happening.

There's a simple litmus test. Musk would never joke about himself in a self-deprecating way, in any capacity. He has such a fragile ego it would break if someone farted in his general direction.

No offense but it's a "I wasn't paying attention in high school physics" comment. It being beta decay with a half-life of 100 years should already indicate it's relatively safe. In fact someone else in this thread already already added the references showing how safe it is. If it's safe enough to power a pacemaker it's safe enough to sit in your phone that sits your pocket.

Personally I think that battery would have much bigger issues than safety, such as power requirements which are much harder to control with nuclear decay. Also obviously the device itself deprecating before the battery because tech will definitely advance a lot in 50 years, I imagine after a decade the phone will be useless. And finally the pricing considering Ni-63 doesn't occur in nature which means you need a specific process to create the materials necessary for the batter.

If you look at other recyclable or sustainable phone cases it's not actually that much expensive. It seems unreasonably priced if you compare them to cases that are not at all eco friendly.

Are you going to back that up with something or stick to "my word is truth"? Because it doesn't take much to go to their site and see that the earbuds are discontinued. Or that for a company full of it they sure go to great lengths about being transparent. They even have a page explaining why they removed the headphone jack.

I get that their own site could all be "just marketing" but that's why I'm asking where's the proof that they're as shitty as you claim?

To be fair, even if you understand the tech it's kinda hard to see how it would benefit the average worker as opposed to CEOs and shareholders who will use it as a cost reduction method to make more money. Most of them will be laid off because of AI so obviously it's of no benefit to them.

I read that and thought "This can't be real. This is too on the nose." then I read the rest and had to check the URL to make sure it's not a joke, because it reads like one big joke.
