I really like pixelfed, but it replaces what instagram was a decade ago, not what instagram is now.

Pixelfed is amazing for sharing photography type photos.

Instagram is now a photo sharing, video sharing, tiktok doomscrolling, messaging service, noticeboard in one.

If you’re enrolled in some rating program it will show it to you, otherwise not. The notes thing is still in beta and most people can’t see it.

Someone proposes. People rate. And if enough people rate positive, and the people who rate positive have had conflicting opinions about other notes, it is approved.

Reminds me of Post-Exertional Neuro-Immune syndrome

I think it should be proportion and not net score. Ie. If after atleast 8 votes have been cast >70% are downvotes, comment is collapsed.

I like that idea.

I’d like to note that while to you it may seem there is little interaction on lemmy, ie. votes and comments. I can assure you the median engagement on posts is far higher than reddit. The bottification of reddit has made it so that the few bot/troll posts get lots of engagement, and anything organic gets pretty much none.

Have you interacted with BeeHaw much? Because they do most the things you ask pretty well.

Bigus dickus prefect of Judea, crazy to have someone famous posting on social media. It is not solely the peasentry who uses it I see.

He still idolised hitler for much of his career, was extremely racist and antisemetic, and contributed wholeheartedly to the german war effort. Although you are right, he wasn’t genocidal, and late in the war he became disenchanted with Hitler. He was one of the better Nazis, and wouldn’t have been hanged, but he was still awful. I’m very uncomfortable with the fact many schools and streets are named after him in germany, and that he has a couple monuments.

Hi. I have a suggestion:

Try to make it more clear that this is not a flawless rating (as that is impossible).

Ways to implement:

  • Make sure the bot says something along the lines of “MBFC rates X news as Y” and not “X news is Y”.
  • Make a caveat (collapsable) at the bottom, that says something along the lines of “MBFC is not flawless. It has an american-centric bias, is not particularly clear on methodology, to the point where wikipedia deems it unreliable; however, we think it is better to have this bot in place as a rough estimate, to discourage posting from bad sources”
  • If possible, add other sources, Like: “MBFC rates the Daily Beast as mostly reliable, Ad Fontes Media rates it as unreliable, and Wikipedia says it is of mixed reliability”
  • Remove the left right ratings. We already have a reliability and quality rating, which is much more useful. The left-right rating is frankly poorly done and all over the place, and honestly doesn’t serve much purpose.
