Knowledge should be free

Unless you download the pdf/epub off a very legal website. And only buy the books of small authors you want to support.

Holy shit that’s brutal. Makes being killed by a firing squad or hung (broken neck variation) sound “humane”.

This reminds me the other month I was reading studies in a dodgy medical journal and one said it “disproved” wheat allergy. When I looked in the funding section, well you had a lot of bread companies.

Not necessarily. As someone who worked in education for a bit. You’d be suprised how crazy parents can act, and how they can overinterpret everything as political.

One parent got mad I was teaching the students about “radicals”… in math. (you know the opposite of the exponent, the radical).

I think (hope) they felt very embarrassed when I explained that to them.

Imagine writing this and then baking it. And then thinking. Yes, I shall keep this for my grandchildren to read.

There’s always a new country to destroy and use it to blame the west.

Joke parties have existed since the beginning of western electoral democracies.

This wikipedia article is a pleasant read.

My favourite current one would have to be germany’s mildly successful “Die Partei”. With their best policy proposal being to. “Wage a war of aggression against Lichtenstein in order to force democratization and abolish serfdom”

Pro russia party great.

Welcome to the Hungary/Slovakia club austria.

Austro-Hungarian vibes are strong.

Also, if you want to feel internal disgust. Note that the FPÖ (which is the winning party here), was formed by former ranking Nazis in the 1950s.

VT. Don’t gamble on single stocks. But since capitalism rules and all of congress owns stocks, you can be fairly confident the market will go up in the long term 10+ years horizon. And compound interest does miracles.
