I'm currently using calckey, works similar to mastodon but with a better UI and UX (IMO), although still in development

I run a restic backup to a local backup server that syncs most of the data (except the movie collection because it's too big). I also keep compressed config/db backups on the live server.

I eventually want to add a cloud platform to the mix, but for now this setup works fine

If you're willing to host your own matrix server, a Discord bridge could be an option

I have 0 trust that Meta can properly moderate their new platform, I'll stay as far away as possible

this is a lemmy community and each post/comment gets published to the feed.

most accounts don't have pfp and no followers, since that's not supported by lemmy

just installed the beta, the UI looks much nicer, and the program has been working great so far!

The product doesn't sound very useful, headphones with an air filter, but does a terrible job filtering the air

I thought the same thing, but there is an option in the user profile page to send them a message:

never tried it though, so can't say how it works

It's been okay, the main instance has been somewhat slow and some posts take time to show up in the feeds.

However, once I started using my self-hosted instance, it's been great! Snappy, content shows up pretty fast and federation has worked well for the time being.

I wish Jerboa was a little more polished for when I'm on my cellphone, but otherwise, the app is pretty good
