Also licensing out the VHS format to 3rd party manufacturers also played a not insignificant role in beating Betamax. More conpanies making more VHS machines won a lot of the battle.

On a completely unrelated point, how can I browse/list all the communities on a separate iinstance from the one I've subscribed to?

I dont want everyone to leave reddit and come over to lemmy. One of the joys of lemmy is not being overwhelmed with meh.

If people really want karma, they can write a 3rd party app to total their comments and posts scores. This isn't reddit.

I'm in Switzerland, so I buy a leisurely coffee and croissant. With the change I buy a bottle of water.

A concern at the back of my head is that if Russia dissolves into civil war, some warlord might use nukes against some other within Russia. Game of Thrones style but with baby nukes instead of dragons.

I decided to watch Rise of Skywalker, just so I could finish Star Wars and be done with. Halfway through I realised that I've already seen it but had forgotten. Just think, the culmination of Star Wars was so bad, that I couldn't remember watching it. I still can't remember anything about the film.

When you're lit up I don't want you to drive either. Chill out on the train, enjoy yourself, have a good evening. Not too difficult on decent public transport.

Maybe we should push a milder version of this angle. Too tired? Partied too much? Don't drive; chill out on the bus home.

Traditionally russian leaders have little regard for their own people. It is unlikely , but not impossible.
