Sega following the runaway success of the Genesis in America has always seemed like a massive pile of failures and mistakes, which is a shame because they could’ve continued their momentum with the strong franchises and inherent ability for quality game production they possessed. I will never understand why 75% of the Saturn library was never localized, or why they thought the 32x was a good idea, even with context. Imagine what could’ve been had they decided to release the Saturn a full year before the PS1.

They could try Miraheze. It’s a small nonprofit that doesn’t put any ads on the site.

People saved the Game.com, of all things. As long as people are aware that something exists, they will try to emulate it.

Fortunately, there are cracks that remove the always-online dependence of a lot of these games.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to open a Reddit museum on the fediverse so people in the future can read the stories of broken arms, jolly ranchers, the Swamps of Dagobah, Streetlamp LeMoose, Kevin, and Rome Sweet Rome.

I didn't really think about it until just now, but I would totally get a new Sega console. They at least have the internal developers to make meaningful first party exclusives to justify getting one.

Still not as big of a mistake as Balan.

I usually search by new and filter by subscriptions. It moves slow enough to keep track of things as they appear.

None of them. Mobile games seem to be designed specifically to take as much money from people as possible for as little effort as possible. It’s like NFTs if they actually worked.

I still have the power plant theme stuck in my head to this day.
