I mean, it’s obvious the coach leaving had a big impact on the team. It’s not like they started to play badly out of thin air. It’s like losing your best player, your performance will most probably go down. And besides that, the psychological factor has to be taken into account. I imagine the players have been listening to the press and the fans talking about a potential historical choke and they just mentally quitted once the first bad results came in. I just feel bad for the players.

U-17 doesn’t mean anything. Nigeria is the nation with the most titles (5), but at the senior level they are nowhere close to that level.
