I thought the Haaland pen they got right. Both players hold onto each other as seen in the photo (could give either way but unfair on the other) but the key incident is Haaland beats Cucurella and is held back. That’s the decision imo.

Assuming it’s a short enough contract he could go out there and use the clean slate to prove commitment and (at least to that leagues level) skill. Still plenty of time for him to return to Europe.

Tbh I question why it should be on the players. If people seriously think we shouldn’t be having this tournament, surely it’s on the governments, footballing authorities and management of teams before the 25 individual players (& their replacements) are asked to come together to stop this.
Basically a political stand shouldn’t be left to your winger and DM.
Like half his team are ex Ajax, under him no less, and he’s had £400 million and counting to spend. At the very least they should be playing ETH era Ajax football.
