"Over 70% of the Hallmark audience is past 50 years old. This breakdown of the most popular Hallmark Christmas movies shows they're mostly a hit with the Medicare crowd, with over half of the audience aged 65 and up. "

Mostly a hit with Medicare crowd. A quick Google search shows mental decline can start as early as 45.

I wouldn't be surprised if these people thought they were living in a Hallmark movie at any given time.

I took a new route on the way back and it added .70 or miles to it so actual 15mi was completed in 3hr 24m. After I saw the 15 on my watch I said screw it I'm walking the rest .

A few yall probably remember me asking about runners knee or pain due to running, well I'm getting better at it yall.

This was the first time I had to actually take water and fuel with me. Sipping on a camelpak every 15 mins or so, and then fuel every hour.

The run itself wasn't too bad, I started to develop a blister on the ball of my foot but I think my right knee is collapsing when I get tired.

Anyways, my dream of running a marathon is getting closer.

Basically, it's been five days and I'm unable to even sit in a chair without a struggle. I didn't go too hard, mainly squats and leg press. I didn't think it would take this long to recover considering I still run 4 times a week. Is it normal to be this sore and what can I do to help it?

I really really want to get back in there and work on my squat form but I can't even get close to parallel right now due to the soreness

Edit* side note I went from an extremely sedentary lifestyle to a very active one about 6 months ago, starting with running but now my legs are paying the price of no strength training. So it may be that I'm just so new to the workouts

Me, every single time I have an extended amount of time off from work. There's so much time I can do anything I want, what's there even to do. What do I want to do? Wrestle with that until the last day then find something I really want to do and end up not having a lot of time for it.

I have the get up and go to run every other day or everyday for maybe two or three months at a time. Then, out of the blue, I'll skip a run, then two runs, then the whole week.

I'm currently in one of these ruts(I'm lacing up my shoes right now, I swear) but I was just wondering if anyone has any strategies for getting out of it. Mine is brute force my way back into it until I'm back in the groove. But this usually ends with me doing too many miles too quickly. Then the injury, the the time off, oh the cycle repeats.

What are your strategies for getting out of a rut? Or even better not getting into it in the first place?

Lol it's funny, they cornered the market on earplugs but then they turned out to be shit. 3M is responsible for so much damage to humans and the environment its not even funny. Get rekt.

Those of you who use your pc solely for gaming, do you keep it in a dedicated room or do you keep it in the family room? Want some opinions. Are there benefits other than the quiet and keeping you rig safe? Do you get more done with the gaming time you have? Why do you or don't you have a dedicated PC room?

Just be patient. The developer has been active in the boost community, and has stated that he expects release before the end of August. I'm using sync for now til it drops. Boost was my favorite way to surf Reddit and I don't think it's gonna change on lemmy

Basically, I took on too many miles too quick. And boom knee pain even when walking now. I don't want to stop moving entirely, but I'm just not sure what I should be during this downtime. I'm pretty new to running so only been doing it for about 2 weeks and I'm a little heavier, so it probably beat my legs up. But I love running and don't want to give it up.

Some of my family members are going through this right now, with one being 74 and not having a penny saved. He still works manual labor jobs at the moment, but I doubt it can continue for much longer due to his health declining. But his situation has more to do with the fact he spent and spent throughout his life with the idea that his children were going to take care of him in his elder years.

This in turn didn't work out because his children don't want to take care of him. It would put such a big financial burden on them they wouldn't be able to take care of their own families.

Yeah but you just gotta do it. Post that comment or post. We gotta build this community for us. I have a tendency to not be as social able on social media vs IRL. Mainly because I'll second guess myself. But we gotta keep this place alive

The game is too easy to get lost in side adventures. I've sunk a lot of hours just doing my own thing, I forget all about High Hrothgar. Usually it's straight to the thieves guild and then I wander around til something strikes my fancy. That and Dradric Armor. Gotta hit up the College for that. Oh and let's not forget Dawnguard. Gotta go pick up my girl, Serena. Just a good game all around.

I've seen quite a few homes with no tvs to be seen, like what are yall doing with your time? I couldn't imagine a family room without a tv.

Jerboa does this. I get content from all instances and I can block and subscribe as I want. I have no complaints at all as of yet. If you are using android, I highly suggest using jerboa

Actually being able to see my content on the page instead of being drowned in a sea of reposts, it feels better and makes me more motives to post instead of just lurking.

Honestly, lemmy is not bad, taking a little getting used to but there's so many communities being created I wouldn't be surprised if see a large migration over the next few months. It seems quite a few people have already made up their minds

Can I just say, I'm so happy that everybody banded together against them. Like a bunch of strangers on the internet grouping together to tell them, "No, you will not"

It's sad they won't listen to their users
