Well now I really have no clue then

I’ve been a long time lurker on other social media platforms, but I’ve started to try and contribute more since I’d like to see communities I like succeed. Maybe then I can go back to lurking

What client are you running Lemmy in? Memmy, Liftoff, Thunder, and Mlem all have the same issue, but only with sh.itjust.works. Wefwef doesn’t seem to have a problem, but it is a web based client so maybe it’s different? Tho the other day wefwef had the same problem, but I don’t think I saw an update between yesterday and today, so I’m not sure what changed.

My best guess so far is it’s a client side issue, tho since it’s affecting multiple clients I’m not sure if I should raise the issue with the app dev instead since it seems to be more contained to the instance. Probably mix of the two is the cause.

That’s a good point.

There’s also the General Duty Clause which states that it is an employers duty to provide a workplace free from recognized hazards that may cause death or serious physical injury.

Given that, I would say regardless of Abbott stripping the stricter safety requirement, employers are still legally obligated to provide water, shade, and rest to employees working in the extreme Texas summer heat.

Edit: added link

Yeah, Greg Abbott is a massive piece of shit. I’m hoping OSHA will have some say in this matter considering how they’ve been pushing Heat Prevention the last couple years. I’m not sure if they have power to enforce breaks from the heat through fines or not, but no employer wants to get hit by them.

So my experience with Mastodon so far has been I tried it out last year, thought man there ain’t shit here, then deleted my account. Giving it another go this time around and realized you gotta follow hashtags and accounts to actually see what you want. I’m still more of a fan of Lemmy, but Mastodon gets better once it’s set up.

Your probably right.

I think the instance update broke compatibility with apps that haven’t updated yet to match the instance.

Logging into lemmy.world in Memmy has no issue.

As of this morning, logging into wefwef with sh.itjust.works seems to work fine. All my subscriptions appear there.

So it may be an inconsistency between the app, and the server’s update that prevents the display and search of certain communities.

Yeah all my subscriptions just disappeared from my sidebar. Deleted Memmy and reinstalled it and I noticed the rules now show sh.itjust.works no longer allows user created communities. Maybe that has something to do with it? I know there was issues with accounts spam creating communities earlier this week.

I’d rather not see any content from that instance tbh.

As far as what I’ve seen blurring NSFW content is a default setting, as is hiding NSFW content. What’s annoying is sometimes content that’s marked NSFW doesn’t necessarily mean porn or nudity, but that it’s just not appropriate for work due to fowl language, or rude humor, or discussion of sensitive topics, etc. so if you hide all NSFW you miss some content. I just don’t want my feed filled with porn. I can stay in subscribed and local, since my instance bans porn, but you run out of stuff sometimes doom scrolling lol. I know that last but is a personal issue.
