Definitely seems like ACE and the media companies have been getting a lot of wins lately

I disagree on nuking it. Its still user generated content and isn't up to the mods to decide what happens to all of that. We just need to grow this community so that this is the real source for piracy related information.

how is the support for AV1 on devices? can most play it back? does plex support it?

No one really knows how things will play out but I was wondering if people are committed to Lemmy, or would the mod team migrate to greener pastures if a better, more functional alternative comes to the forefront.

I'm hoping Lemmy can improve but I personally don't love using it. Its still early days though so that might change. There are a couple promising alternatives in development right now but since they aren't out, everyone is migrating to lemmy.

As someone with a disability, the UI/UX is problematic and makes me physically ill after using it for a short period of time.

Personally I just don't like lemmy, but i'll stick to where the community goes. This instances are slow and don't always work well. Simple things like upvotes lag. Either way its splintering the community and that is a bad thing in the long run.

The sub is already open though and people are posting piracy related questions. I don't see why people are still bitching.

people are addicted to reddit and its going to take time for them to get off that drug. Having a robust, functional alternative would help with that. Lemmy needs work still to be that

too bad reddit is dead

Pretty self explanatory but if you are going to continue to use reddit on mobile, switch to one of these options. You will need to have to create your own api key but that is easy to do.

As pirates we are known to adapt to rough seas. There are always methods for us to keep accessing content and reddit isn’t going to be able to stop us.

I recommend creating a throwaway account for this. Sign up as a developer at the above link and then use the key you get from it.

damn a lot of services are dropping out of the game lately. I'm worried about the future of piracy

I'm really hoping limereader works out as the dev has a really good idea for it.

I hate to say this but reddit probably doesn't care if r/piracy stays dark. We were probably one of the subs they were hoping to get rid of.

With that said i support the movement. The biggest loss is the institutional knowledge since we can't just search for an old post

Is there a mirror of the sub? It'd be great if we could mirror the content here.
