I couldn't just go "Yeah I like Metal Gear Solid V, too,"

I would like to say to please DO post these kinds of things if you indeed like a product or service or whatever.

When I am deciding on a purchase I also liked to look at reddit threads at what the experiences are from the people who already purchased the service/product.

I would scan the threads and also look at how many people just agree with a point that is being made.

It is moronic to say that things like that isn't "contributing", it actually also helps me as a consumer decide on the purchases I make and not all the comments have to be eloquent about it.

People misunderstand one thing; The 48 hours is a start.

There are subs who immediately blacked out for indefinitely (r/videos and r/music are the biggest ones as I remember).

From the subs I did read before it all started they stated that they would start for 48 hours, evaluate their stance after and behave accordingly.

I would be suprised to see every sub just go public again after 48 hours and go on as nothing happened.

There will be subs that will do that though and I wish those good luck for the future, but I am sure a portion will protest further in 1 way or the other.

It made me stop buying games and consoles in the first place.

You have to be online, the game has to be downloaded on the system, there will be bugs and it has to be patched.

Just let me buy a game and play it. I may sound like an old fart but I really enjoyed the days that I could go to a store, buy a game and play it immediately on my console.

Especially the fact that bugs are literally shipped like features now and you just have to accept that your game of 80-90 dollars is ridden with bugs, yeah fuck off really.

Reddit should do whatever they want to do.

Naive is thinking that Reddit will implode after 48 hours or that they will actually change something after 48 hours.

You are already saying it, they are gonna implement ways to monetize their users and platform and keep doing it in the name of infinite growth/profits.

That is the thing, why should I be a part of it or give Reddit my time and attention to achieve that?

They crossed the boundary that I had set for myself and me enforcing it is to leave the platform.

I joined the blackout for 48 hours and my idea was to see after what is gonna happen, but i'll just login after the blackout and edit my comments and delete my account after.

I am not even coping, but I haven't had the urge to open Reddit at all.

RIF was Reddit for me and for all I car they can put their API where the sun doesn't shine.

I can understand!

The difference for me will be my Reddit usage. I will not use it via my phone anymore but use it (if necessary) with an search engine to find specific information.

I used Reddit (RIF) on my phone 99.9% of the time.

So Reddit can have 0.1% of my attention. Well done reddit, you played yourself.

I am actually! (am a guy)

I always got it cut around the awkward fase. My hair is quite robust and curly so when I grow it out I always look like a crazy professor after a month or 2.

I got a keratine treatment to relax it for a few months, so it is more manageable.

I am blessed with thick, coarse hair so I am very excited to see how it will look when it is (eventually) longer than shoulder length.

My last haircut was around the beginning of december 2022 so I hope to see some nice results around december this year.

Don't mind me, I am just waiting in the wings to "Choose someone's wife"

Agreed.

Someone linked an article from 2019 about the fact that the investors wanted the same returns out of Reddit as in Facebook/instagram.

If Steve actually was "with" the users and Reddit as a platform he should have told them to eat shit.

I am quite sure it is the reason why Reddit is heading the way of Facebook/Insta/Tik tok etc.

And I have zero interest in being a part of it.

My eyes are screaming just looking at the new.reddit UI.

Sometimes it's good to be reminded what an abomination it actually is.

HA you cannot make this shit up.

Just give in to Reddit's ridiculous demands indeed.

This is just a start for them to charge even more down the line "cuz profits".

It will not be sustainable as an 3rd party app one way or the other.
They can also just revoke the access without blinking just because they would feel like it.
