I am somewhat agnostic about word processors, although I prefer Apache Open Office, I have LibreOffice on one machine Open Office on another and a somewhat dated version of MS Office running thru wine on an Ubuntustudio laptop.
Because of this I use .rtf as a lingua franca between them.

I use UbuntuStudio and I dislike Snaps too.
The Snap installation of Shotcut broke almost immediately. so I use good old Synaptic package manager for the more critical installs.
Snap can handle some things sure, but if I find I need something or even need to remove something I reach for Synaptic. Synaptic seems to handle dependencies better too.
