You've nailed this here, yet get downvotes. The amount of times I've gone to a man page and my eyes glaze over. Really handy to learn new flags or if you forget, but as an introductory material. They don't work for everyone. People learn in different ways, sometimes by doing and my brain isn't wired this way.
You seem to not like the name or the things we do. Maybe tell us more about what you like...
We had the poll on Matrix also which is FOSS, and our issue tracker built on Gitea. The minetest forums are notoriously sluggish and many there don't play VoxeLibre. We reached out to players in all areas. The fact remains that 80%+ of our players choose discord and ignoring them is not a helpful. A lot of people do not check the forum frequently, and that policy would be exclusionary and unjustifiably dogmatic.
We make extra efforts to reach out to our members in FOSS communities and do more than most to keep away from non-free software like Github and keep our channels bridged to matrix.
I can assure you the effort is non trivial and takes away from actually writing open source software. Very recently it lost all the data and we had to manually bridge 15+ channels again when I had waay too much other stuff going on. Many projects abandon these bridges because they are unreliable.
It was done by a poll on Discord, Matrix, and our issue tracker. I think over 120 votes were cast. It was a polling majority...
Pretty much. Yes.
The game has always had differences and sometimes the contributors can get a little firm on folk for differing because it's called MineClone2. Well now it isn't. The term inspired by rather than clone has been used for a while now.
Yup. It's very slow to generate and quite buggy. It needs reworking. They platform from 1 node they start generating in and aren't too good at knowing when it hits ground or not. They generate with better platforms in deserts and foresty snowy biomes than they used to, but that's a short term solution.
Yeah, I'd like the project to expand to others, but I think currently it relies on unlocking the bootloader, installing a new OS and relocking the bootloader and not many hardware manufacturers provide that right now.
I think without Pixel, there are a few things like Lineage (and I'm not sure about e/os) if the hardware isn't something you're going for. Other mobile linux isn't quite ready and needs time.
I'm using a 6a and it works great. Mileage may vary if you get under contract as these companies sometimes mess around with the boot locking stuff etc.
Not had issues with Signal, but yeah, wouldn't touch Telegram with a barge pole. Probably a CIA honeypot.
A bit rough around the edges, but you'll get better.
Erm. It's mostly a minecraft clone originally based on Pixel Perfection texture pack which was open source licence, but is increasingly getting more of it's own art, and some unique features. Burgers to lure villagers for example. I was told bookcases that stored books was in the MineClone2 first. It's a pretty solid game and very playable but certain parts still need to be implemented. Redstone is not quite where it needs to be yet. Mobs are progressing, but need a little work still, but for a FOSS game on a FOSS engine, you cannot go better! :)
I was impressed by how much content and how playable it was, and it goes from strength to strength.
You mean following a legal order that any company would have to do?
India was considered part of the BRIC rapidly developing economies long before modi. Feels weird to give him credit for what was inevitable.
