Car, though I have a plug in hybrid and fill up the tank once every 2-3 months. Public transit is a joke in my city, and while I do bike to the few places I can safely get to (work is actually one of them, weather permitting), it’s just not something I’d feel safe doing for most commutes.

The Microsoft Sculpt keyboard is my perfect keyboard. They discontinued it a couple months ago, but you can still find them in Amazon. Tented and split (though it’s one solid unit, so no customization) with a separate wireless numpad for exactly the reason you described. Typing on anything else makes my fingers go numb after about half an hour.

Still thinking about trying a fully customizable one someday though, but I’m not sure it’s worth the expense for me

Absolutely. This wouldn’t be a guitar community otherwise

Edit: though so far, [email protected] seems to have the early edge on activity

Seems like more web3 BS to me. Anything that Jack Dorsey puts his energy into is on my do-not-use list.

I’ve been working on transitioning between barre chords and major 7th chords (specifically the voicing that uses just the top four strings with fingers arranged in a diagonal).

Going from the 7th to the barre is easy enough, but transitioning back with confidence and accuracy is proving challenging

Hah! I did not know that. They just gotta keep us guessing on this stuff

Not an uncommon assumption! I learned this by making the same assumption on Reddit a few years ago

Great guitar. And I love my Couch strap as well. Should last me basically the rest of my life.

Oh good! My first opportunity to point out that Jazzmaster pickups aren’t P90s! They look very similar, but they’re wound very differently and have a distinctly different sound.

But they’re both pure sex, so you’re not wrong on the fundamentals, lol

And like… everything else, too

Don’t worry, she took it off like 2 seconds later

Great looking build! I have bad shoulders, so I’m always a little put off by the weight of most explorers. How much does this thing weigh?

So there appear to be two brand new guitar communities, one here and one at midwest.social. I think we're all probably getting used to how the fediverse version of this kind of social media works, so maybe two aren't necessary?

Anyway, posting to both to see what kind of traction/interactions I get

This is a recent build I did, and it's super fun to play:

  • Warmoth neck
  • Nomoonlaser body
  • Bootstrap pickups
  • Hipshot tuners
  • Fender hardware otherwise, though the pickguard is from some random dude on ebay, and it thankfully fit perfectly.

Mostly trying to figure out the best way to post here. Tried a direct upload of a photo yesterday, and it just ground to a halt.

Anyway!

This is a recent build I did, and I love it

  • Warmoth neck
  • Nomoonlaser body
  • Bootstrap pickups
  • Hipshot tuners
  • all other hardware is fender. Though the pickguard is some random dude on ebay that thankfully fit perfectly

I'm mostly trying to figure out the most efficient way of posting pics in these communities. I tried a direct upload yesterday that failed.

Anyway, this is a recent build I did, and it's become one of my top two guitars.
