Testing crosspost, please ignore

I am just testing how this shows up on lemmy.

Crossposting to @[email protected]
Also to: @[email protected]

This is just a test. I'll try attaching files and writing a title for a lemmy post, tag it, crosspost and hopefully things work.

This is a link to a simple csv file on IPFS:

Haha, well maybe a bit heretical considering this declares itself to be the successor to steamdeck_linux and not even just steamdeck. Guess I wouldn't worry about it too much though.

Nice screenshot! Haven't been flying a whole lot recently, I hope to get into it more later this month when I have some free time, weather permitting.

External trackers... so that sounds like they literally just use it as a display that has no idea how your head is oriented or moves. All that has to be added through other hardware. Which makes sense since that probably is one of the most challenging things to implement for this, still a very long way to go for anything actually usable if it even happens.

Wagner is the only one involved and isn't really a random mercenary group though. Prigozhin is (was) in Putin's inner circle and Wagner was a tool of the Russian government. I don't think this is all that different from a faction in the armed forces trying to stage a coup as happened during Soviet times.

Of course when nukes are fought over it is always scary anyway which is why the USA didn't really want the Soviet Union to fall apart either.

Crazy stuff. They do say that these regimes tend to seem rock solid until they don't.

Unless this is some massive false flag at the very least this should result in some disarray for Russia and that is helpful for Ukraine...

Haven't watched this in full yet but the "race to the bottom" type comments about how you need to make a device that people actually want I heard about from @davemark here on Mastodon.

#PalmerLuckey said that before too, in the context of the Oculus Quest that time IIRC. He's not entirely wrong in that we do need the high end devices that offer the best experience possible to drive things forward. Personally I just think we can and should have the low-end too.

Interesting video. Didn't see anything particularly exceptional here but nice to see the UI in any case.

Would have loved to have seen some more desktop-like windowing features but aside from being able to open and place more than one open application I didn't catch anything. I think the mobile phone / tablet legacy of the standalone devices is holding back the UX ideas to an extent, VR has the potential to be much more PC-like.

Thanks, this was quite informative as to what the state of things are on the Windows side.

That said, I highly dislike the idea of undermining Valve's efforts to get PC gaming less dependent on Windows so certainly will not be using any of this.

Just note that several large mastodon instances including mastodon.social have blocked bird.makeup so it unfortunately is not available everywhere (personally I find it irreplaceable)

Thanks, despite the downvotes this seems informative and helpful to dispel Russian propaganda narratives. It is not useful to deny the existence of right wing Ukrainians but it is to show us how they actually think and what they actually want.

There have been countless accounts of Russian mobiks and people drafted into LPR and DPR forces having to purchase their own gear, getting old and broken stuff etc.pretty much from the start of the war.

Then again Ukrainians are not always able to equip units well either. Donating helps.
