Data Hoarder

We are digital librarians. Among us are represented the various reasons to keep data -- legal requirements, competitive requirements, uncertainty of permanence of cloud services, distaste for transmitting your data externally (e.g. government or corporate espionage), cultural and familial archivists, internet collapse preppers, and people who do it themselves so they're sure it's done right. Everyone has their reasons for curating the data they have decided to keep (either forever or For A Damn Long Time (tm) ). Along the way we have sought out like-minded individuals to exchange strategies, war stories, and cautionary tales of failures.

Hi all,

I have a ton of folders of photos and videos from family reunions, weddings, and other occasions on my desktop. I'm looking to setup an online sharing platform to allow my family access to view, and add more photos.

Ideally would like something that could also generate tag photos to a family member so we can pull all the photos and videos of a person into one view.

Does anything remotely similar to this exist?

I run TNG family tree software. It's not pure photo based and not the most modern thing on the planet, but it allows you to create people, link photos to them, all that good stuff. It's family tree software and runs on your own server so you own your data, unlike a lot of places.

Adobe Lightroom does this.
