Hello everyone wanted to reach out to see if anyone else is having issues with I7-13900k. I'm going to post my full build here first before the issue.

Intel i9-13900k Azus Z790k 32gb z skill Trident ddr5 (also tried Corsair vengence ddr5 issues still occur) Corsair 850w PSU Zotac 3090

It stared a few months ago, I started to get errors in games and crashes to desktop. It has progressed since then and I am beginning to get BSOD's of referenced memory could not be read. I changed my ram from GSkill Trident to Corsair Vegence ram and lowered the mghz from 6000 to 5000 to see if that was causing an issue.

Traded GPU's with a coworker for a night and my issues continued to occur. His PC had no errors with running my GPU nor did he experience any crashes.

Any ideas as to what could be going wrong?

I would RMA it with Intel.

Run memtest overnight.

Usually problems like this are RAM or motherboard. Uncommonly they may be the CPU as well, so troubleshoot and try to exclude the most likely causes first.

Use these settings on top of XMP

SVID Behavior = Typical

Digi+ LLC = 4

TX VDDQ = 1.35v

IMC VDD = 1.35v

I figure this is in BIOs? I'll try to dig around for it tonight when I'm off work

Went through 3x 13900k and two Asus boards before finally getting another CPU and changing over to an MSI Tomahawk z790. No issues since.

What you describe is the hell I went though from December through April. Fortunately bought in store replacement warranty and they were able to replicate the problems each time and replaced.

I would suggest if you can, buy a cheap 12100 or 13100 and try it in your system. You might have to eat that cost to try and figure out if it’s processor or motherboard related. However, if it’s CPU related, it’s possible your motherboard is causing the issue to kill CPU(s), as was in my case.

hej man did you find any tests to check what's wrong?

I run almost the same set up, instead of Asus 790, I run z690 Prime A.

The software I use for work keeps crashing. Checked with the developers and they made 3 debug builds and finally assured me something is wrong with my hardware, most probably a CPU bug.

Currently I am on an email chain with Intel where they ask me random questions every 2 days. thanks to your post, I am reading that ASUS boards could be at fault too? Too complex for me, sadly.

I'm sad to hear everyone is having issues with this issue. Such a crazy oversight on Intel or Mobo manufacturers.

I'm glad I'm not crazy,(this isn't to say one is better than others) but Amazon has Ryzen on sale so may switch back to that idk yet.

A big let down for my experience for a high end chip
