Hey all,

I know this will apply to a small subsection of people here but I'm hope it might make its way to them: I've been dual-booting Void Linux for a while now and absolutely love it, and my Batch 8 AMD FW 13 will be arriving soon for xmas. Just wondering how people's experiences have been if any of you have been using Void on a Framework, any particular hardware issues you've run into?

Particularly regarding a certain nightmare of mine, getting working sound output...if any of you have indeed managed it on the FW I'd be extremely grateful to know how you set it up (did you use alsa, alsa + pulse, anything else). I've been trying on & off for months to get the Void partition of my Intel 2017 Macbook Pro to have working audio but no luck.

Cheers!

sound should "just work" is my guess - macbooks have special hardware that often needs special fixes, framework really doesn't.

Should fall in the "just work" category.

I'm running NixOS without an issue, and seen a lot of others running various ones

Have not run it (no pun intended) myself with VOID, however, on a newer kernels like 6.5.x, should be pretty good. Make absolutely sure you update the BIOS.
