Hey folks, I hope anyone can help me. I was just installing new hardware when I noticed this little guy laying around (https://i.postimg.cc/gj9f3JXs/IMG-20231122-184323.jpg). I'm pretty sure it's from the mainboard. Can anyone tell me what this is and where this belongs to on the mainboard? I think it's from that corner (https://i.postimg.cc/s27Pvgzs/IMG-20231122-184333.jpg), because it was right next to this place but I can't find any place where something like this is missing. What should I do know? I'm so helpless right now.

It looks like a capacitor to me. Fairly good chance the board still works without it. Most caps are decoupling capacitor to help filter out noise in the power.

As Admiral Cartright said definitely a SMD capacitor.

Problem is there's so many unpopulated points on that board that you would have to spend an hour eyeballing them to find the one it came from. The good news is he's right, the board will almost certainly run fine without it.

But try to be more careful with your hardware, a simple slip of a screwdriver can cause that with those small SMDs, and you really don't want to chance fate with SMDs on say a GPU...
