So i am building a new pc to have at home instead of my laptop and need a recommendation. I play a lot of rust and the best cpus for rust are the x3d ones from amd because of their l3 cache and memory controllers would there be enough of a difference for me to notice i also know that if i got an am5 motherboard i would be able to upgrade down the line without changing it but intel is getting a new socket next gen so if i wanted to upgrade i would need to buy a new mobo which isnt ideal if i got anything wrong feel free to correct me in the comments (sorry for my english not my first language)

No. RISC architecture have the security issue on meltdown and testing on the grc.com website would tell you.

If you're just gaming, go for the 7800X3D. Upgrade path down the line.

The current intel platforms are more mature and more likely to work out of the box.

The AMD platforms provide stronger raw performance and a much better future upgrade path but with more potential for system instability and very slow boot times.

So just go with whichever you think will be more important to you.

People have no clue how horrible it feels to wait for more than 1 minute for your pc to POST. Its either it will eventually POST or the memory need to be re-train again for about 3-4 minutes.

If you only care about gaming performance, AMD is better value AND for more frames.

If you want a more balance system overall, go Intel.

How, exactly, is Intel more "balanced"? WTF does that even mean?

I'd honestly say that Intel loses that metric on power consumption alone.

Not this or the last generation atleast.

I wish I got the 7800x3d instead of my 13900k

I don't know how valid Frame Chasers is (Youtuber) but he claims AMD Zen CPUs including X3D chips have microstutter with Rust specifically and that Intel CPUs don't have these hitches with that specific title.
