ASUS Router as AP for IOT devices (alien.top)

New to homelab setups in general and learning about IOT device vulnerabilities. Currently only using an ASUS router but was messing with an old Asus router for fun. I flashed the old router to Merlin firmware and it's currently setup as an access point. What fun that was. My question is, would it benefit my network security in any way to connect all my IOT devices to the access point router? I have two smart TVs (one wired, one wireless) and a robot vacuum. Go easy on me, and thanks in advance!

I don't know that it'll do much for security, but it might make administration easier to have them on a separate physical network
