McManman was galaxies better than Beckham.

John Charles is the greatest British export ever.

Beckham winning one La Liga and one Ligue 1 title whilst abroad, doesn't really make him a great export, other than for his own commercial value. Even McManaman won 2 La Ligas and 2 CLs. I know titles aren't everything but this obsession with Beckham being up there among the greats is just ridiculous. Excellent player and English football ambassador yes, but let's not go overboard. Well, it's too late for that, of course.

Does Sancho deserve to be mentioned here. Was pretty good at Dortmund.

Honest to god Trippier is up there. He was phenomenal for us and deserves to be at least in the conversation.

Crazy how many ex Spurs British players (all legends too) played abroad. Kane, Bale, Lineker, Gazza, Waddle, Hoddle, even Greaves

It's esoteric perhaps but I think Bale and Beckham might be slightly less significant than people like the Hogg brothers, who introduced football to Argentina. Bale won't enter Real's all-time greats, James Hogg helped found one of the world's most important football nations.
