I'm planning on getting a Nvidia Tesla K80 for cryptomining rigs and likely deep learning things, do you guys know if it needs a license?

K80 isn’t even supported by current drivers or kernels

To my knowledge no nvidia cards need licenses. You should look at getting something newer like a p40 or even a consumer gtx series card will far outperform a k80.

Incorrect. Teslas require licensing for vGPU and certain compute modes / features. Even Quadro’s / RTX series cards require it for vGPU as well
