So I have a dell poweredge r620 in my rack that I got recently, I put a 480gb SATA ssd in the first drive bay for a boot drive, ever since I put it in the server gives me a fatal error on bay 1 drive 0 (the ssd drive) however it still boots and everything, is there a way to get rid of this? Have I configured something incorrectly?

Some SSDs cause this. Don't know for sure why, but all the Samsung consumer SSDs I've put in servers over the years, never triggered those warnings. Maybe for your next round of SSDs, stick with Samsung?

Dell is very picky about drive manufacturers / class / etc. You can dismiss the alarm temporarily but it will come back every day or two unless you completely disable that specific alarm in the iDRAC interface.

had the same problem with my dell poweredge R320 and samsung 870 evo ssds. I even switched to a better raid controller. I think they were not compatible with the server.
