Home automation is the residential extension of building automation.

It is automation of the home, housework or household activity.

Home automation may include centralized control of lighting, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), appliances, security locks of gates and doors and other systems, to provide improved convenience, comfort, energy efficiency and security.

I have 2 Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight cameras and a $14CAD monthly Arlo subscription to be able to have the detection available. The main purpose for these cameras are that during night time, I have them set to light up and sound an alarm if a person or vehicle is detected between 12am and 6:30am. Although to achieve this I had to MacGyver it up in IFFFT but that's another story. Currently one of these cams has had a battery die and its $100CAD to replace.

I also have Wyze cams around my house as well as a few Wyze plugs and bulbs. I don't currently have any subscription with Wyze but see the Floodlight Camera and wonder if someone with these could confirm that I'd be able to set them up to my Arlo night time detection and alarm routine I have going? And if possible, is this going to need a subscription.

I would check out the reolink duo 2 with floodlight. I had Wyze cameras and switched them all to a reolink system. No subscription needed and they can be hooked up to a NVR is wanted.
