If only Linus could actually test it properly

I for one am very angry he did not even attempt CPU rendered crysis like he did with the 3990X

The reality is that CPU rendering usually doesn't really scale with more cores, as the bottlenecks lie elsewhere. llvmpipe, for example, is actually limited to a certain number of cores, and although you could always edit the code, you are unlikely to see that much of a performance uplift.

and without dropping anything, like the buffoon he is.

LTT ...... Lvl1tech is the one to watch for this kind of content.

Tests a monster cpu on a tiny mobo that gimps the memory system by 1/3rd....with a cooler that is undersized and leads to instant thermal throttling....

I know LTT is not a server hardware channel, and more of an entertainment channel then anything else. But...man I feel like he abused that poor cpu. At least he didn't drop it on the mobo socket.

Very cool technology to be sure. Maybe eventually this tech trickles down to mainstream so it’s relevant to most people. Right now even enthusiasts will never even see one of those in person let alone use it, so it isn’t really all that relevant
