Does anyone have recommendations for a good file syncing app?

Currently I use Synology Drive Sync, which works great. I have Drive Server running on my NAS, and Drive Client running on my PC. But I've been slowly moving away from bare metal applications, just in case I switch off of Synology one day.

I'm looking for something well polished that has versioning, as well as file manager integration with Windows Explorer (so it shows check marks on files that are sync'd).

Syncthing seems right for you

Syncthing would work well for just syncing.

So would Seafile, for a more Google Drive-like experience.

So would NextCloud, for more of an extensible Google Drive+Apps experience that you can customize to your needs.

I second syncthing. I use obsidian. They want a fee to sync. I use syncthing for free. Obsidian is synced across a personal Linux laptop, personal Windows laptop, desktop, tablet, cell phone, and office laptop. Works well. I also use it to sync working files. I can leave my laptop in the office and still have convenient access from home.
