I have a asrock x470d4u with r5 2600,32gb ram. I'm trying to set it up so that i can use my tesla p4, solar4flare 10g card and a dual nvme adapter. my final setup is to have the 3 cards installed along with 2 optane drives on the m.2 slots on the motherboard(proxmox mirrored boot drives).

I'm running proxmox 7.4 on this build. I have the first x16 slot set to 4x4, i've tried 4x4,2x8,and 1x16. No matter what i do, it only shows one ssd. I've seen builds with this board that have all the slots full and still get 2 ssd from adapters in the x16 slot. the adapter i am using is this one. I'm not sure if i should but running lspci doesnt show the asmedia controller this card has. I currently only have the nvme adapter installed and lspci and the disks tab in proxmox both only show one drive.the only thing i can think of is that since the adapter states pcie 4, maybe that is causing the issue since x470 is pcie 3 tops. Even making the motherboard force pcie 3 doesn't do anything.

if it's an issue with this card, does anyone have a recommendation on a dual nvme drive adapter that will work with the x470d4u?
