Data Hoarder

We are digital librarians. Among us are represented the various reasons to keep data -- legal requirements, competitive requirements, uncertainty of permanence of cloud services, distaste for transmitting your data externally (e.g. government or corporate espionage), cultural and familial archivists, internet collapse preppers, and people who do it themselves so they're sure it's done right. Everyone has their reasons for curating the data they have decided to keep (either forever or For A Damn Long Time (tm) ). Along the way we have sought out like-minded individuals to exchange strategies, war stories, and cautionary tales of failures.

I gotta say. I am not a datahorder. I enjoy technology, but I am not a techie.

I am sitting here fucking giddy with the possibilities of AI. I can now make my own AI, upload documents to it, and have it act as my personal research assistant. I am kicking myself for all the documents I have lost over the years.

Why am I posting here? Because I think Datahorders are going to have a lot of fun with this.

I need to return some tapes.

But for real, what types of documents are you aiming to hoard? Your own? Research papers? Governmental stuff? Instruction manuals?
