A place to discuss pro-conservative stuff

  1. Be excellent to each other. Civility, No Racism, No Bigotry, No Slurs, No calls to violences, No namecalling, All that good stuff, follow lemm.ee's rules, follow the rules of your instance, etc.

  2. We are a Pro-Conservative forum. Posts must have a clear pro-conservative, or anti left-wing bias. We are interested in promoting conservatism and discussing things that might get ignored elsewhere. All sources are acceptable, however reputable sources with a reputation for factual reporting are preferred.

  3. Dissent is allowed in the comments, but try to be constructive; if you do not agree, then provide a reason which is backed up by references or a reasonable alternative interpretation of the provided facts. That means the left wing is welcome to state their opinions, but please keep it in good faith.

A polite request, not a rule, if you feel the need to report a comment, please don't reply to it.

I was going to ask what this had to do with the Tories. I was wrong on two fronts. The UK Tories, despite it not being traditional for them to support individual freedoms, especially with this US-style rhetoric, did pass this law. Two, this is a US centric community, and the US right-wing do purport themselves to be free-speech defenders, (it is only recently that the UK tories have started apeing them).

Would the mod consider changing the sidebar to say: 'An American/US community for conservatives'?

Thanks.

I've put America in parenthesis under rule 2. Maybe I should make it more prominent, but I feel like that might frighten away any potential conservatives from anywhere but America. I would like this sub to grow, and perspectives from other countries would be nice.

The problem, if it is one, is that I'm American, and I see things from a certain perspective. I hold human rights to be of the utmost importance, especially freedom of speech. And this is a clear violation of that inalienable right.

Yeah I saw that and my idea was to have the first line be edited to make it more prominent. It's your community, just a suggestion from me.

I still don't get how anyone didn't see this coming

Conservatives curbing civil rights is pretty normal. Most non-conservatives who pay attetion to politics saw this coming.
