Me: can't decide between Connect, Liftoff and Jerboa. I'll try Sync and Boost on release day

What about Connect?
Honestly I probably will still get sync pro for Lemmy but Connect is really good and depending on how things go I might keep it.
Connect has some annoying quirks but overall has been pretty good.
Though not gonna lie, the Lemmy web interface isn't really that bad either. It's not an app to be sure, but at least it runs pretty smooth.
I'm happily using Connect. I doubt I'll be switching to Boost or Sync when they arrive, since I wasn't using them for Reddit however, if Relay for Lemmy becomes a thing I could be interested.
I went to the playstore, and looked for boost. Although it's not yet released, it already lists the data that will be collected (quite a lot).
Meanwhile jerboa states that it collects and shares no data. It has room for improvement, but it's fully functional and fits my needs for browsing Lemmy.
Connect doesn't collect or share any data either. I've personally had a better experience with Connect than I had with Jerboa.
I only had issues with jerboa when they were unable to update the instance. Now that that's done it's been fine for me.
I like the way jerboa handles the UI better than Connect. I've used WefWef as well and I keep coming back to jerboa.
Jerboa seems to work fine for me. Reviews complained about minor issues and crashing but I haven't experienced any of that.
When I first started it was super buggy and couldn't even login properly but checked in after a while and its working pretty well now. Ig those are old reviews before they fixed all the issues.
I'm only using connect because it has the hide read/scrolled past post feature. With all the other apps I've tried and I've tried them all they always show the exact same post for like a day straight because they don't go away when I have already looked at them.
How do you do that? hide posts you've already seen
Tap the hamburger icon, select settings, enable "Hide read post", save settings.
I'm using Thunder and I love the look and feel but it's obvious that it's still in alpha with all the broken/missing features
I guess it's not FOSS so I pass. For people who came from Reddit, no problem, they already have progress.
So far I've been using mainly jerboa and connect, swapping between the two when one gets annoying.
Jerboa has the best features and customizing, but is also the worst. I get more errors on Jerboa that I can handle.
This is literally exactly what I'm doing too!
Omg same but Connect is horrible so I uninstalled it. Only tried it because Lemmy had a bug and wouldn't work for a bit.
Connect has been updating so frequently that every problem I've had with it ends up getting fixed the next day.
Really? I've been using Connect and have been mostly happy with it
You can't see dislikes nor create a post with an image. There also isn't (if I remember correctly) a guide while writing for formatting.
Using liftoff rn but I have boost for lemmy scheduled to download when it releases

I'm using Liftoff atm, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to try Sync when it comes.
I have only tried jerboa and is currently using the PWA. Is there any of the apps that looks like RIF, and has dark mode support?
I have jerboa, and it's in dark mode. But maybe that's sobre pre set thing of my phone
Just checked, and it's in dark mode for me as well, so that must have been added/fixed in an update. But I was recommended to try Liftoff in the meantime, and do prefer to use that right now.
I'm waiting for Slide, I might even try to help the development but idk shit about android apps so maybe it's better I don't touch it lmao.
Slide has the best customization I have seen for any reddit app hands down.
Slide was great. Is it being actively developed for Lemmy or are you just hoping?
The last commit was 2 days ago which shows promise. It's not the same author, but slide was on source anyways so the more publicity and contributors it gets, the better.
