Hey guys!
Some background story:
My original HP HT03XL battery recently got swollen so badly, because I kept my laptop charging all the time, and it was pushing against the case, so I decided to go on AliExpress and buy a new one.
I received the battery, changed it, and then it required calibration. It never calibrated (at least this is what the HP app says) and the capacity is not 3400 but close to 2800, as I checked from BatteryInfoView. In startup it doesn't warn that the battery is counterfeit or anything like that.
The only problem is that with normal usage, just browsing the web, it decreases 1% every 1 or 2 minutes. Immediately after you unplug it it goes to 99 or 98%. Once it goes to 70% it decreases much slower.
I have the option to return the item and get a full refund, which in total with the shipping is 33$. I checked on HP on Amazon and the original battery was 99 euros.
Since the production year of the battery is 2019 Im not sure if it's a good idea to buy it because probably it has been kept on a shelf for years without charging and the battery would be damaged from very low voltage. For the same price I can buy 3 or 4 counterfeit batteries and change them every couple of months...
What do you guys think? What should I do? Which option is worth it in the long run, considering that I don't use the laptop unplugged a lot?
Also, any tips on how to avoid battery degradation? I kept it plugged in all the time because in theory the battery would get bypassed and the system would get the current directly from the current...
