Had a lot of fun with a flashlight in the woods. Many mushrooms literally glow when a little light hits them, they are very easy to spot this way!

Does anyone have some ID?

And this is only with my fairly crappy phone camera. Imagine what you could do at night with a good camera and some nice lighting!

I have hundreds of mushroom photos people mistake for professional photos all the time. Not because I’m a natural photographer or any shit like that, it’s just mushrooms are so goddamn charismatic that they speak for themselves very loudly.

I really miss the sanctity of spring or summer nights while on mushrooms. Some of the best and purest memories I have of old friends are from wandering the lake community I grew up in on damp and/or drizzling summer nights. We always got really hung up on our R sounds during speech for some reason. ie: "It's so frrrrresh out right now. So rrrrrefrrreeshing after a good rrrrrrain..", all the while hiding from passing vehicles by way of drenched shrubbery.

Running out into fields to push hay bales around (and fortunately not winding up under them), or standing silently at the blinking red stoplight in the center of the desolate intersection, admiring the strange, soft glow of the Pepsi vending machine outside of the closed gas station.

Man, those were the nights.

I recall some wandering through closed golf courses and parks and talking about shit we found terrifying but wouldn't normally mention. It seems like it was always warm when we started but cold once the dew started building up on the way home.
