Fun fact: Tomiyasu has now scored in 4 different leagues - Japan, Belgium, Italy, England.

Are Sheffield the worst prem team ever?

Eddie hattrick. Tomi’s first goal. Vieira being Vieira. Smith Rowe AND Elneny assists. Kiwior being a rock at the back. Millimetres off the perfect game!

Only a Havertz goal away from true perfection :(

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

To be fair to Havertz, he was out there battling today. More spirited performance from him than any I've seen so far. Hopefully a sign of things to come!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Good to finally see he can put in a solid shift against a spirited team. If he keeps this up he might even contribute a goal or an assist this season!

Love to see Tomiyasu getting a goal as well. He's done really well after battling his injury troubles

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Ah taking relegation fodder to the cleaners, I love that. Gotta get that GD looking good

Honestly think Sheffield could break the record for the fewest premier league points of all time.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Ah thanks for the clarification! It was really confusing to know whether he was talking about Sheffield United or Sheffield Wednesday!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Genuinely not seen a Sheffield United team as bad as this since the League One days.

Great time to be a Derby fan.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Sheffield United are straight up terrible, they weren't good to begin with but the defensive injuries have crippled them.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

I'm going to say what we're all thinking.

Eddie Nketiah is the best English striker with a five letter first name with double letters in the middle.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Considering our first choice LCB, RCM and ST were out, this was a fantastic performance. Just hoping for no more injuries and we can really cook

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Eddie stunting on these hoes, you love to see it

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Could easily see both of us going winless this season.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Your defence is in trouble, Nketiah in the room on the official speaker 🤣🤣

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Despite so many injuries, and key players resting, Arsenal's looks formidable. This season, Arsenal have the depth to go all the way through.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

TQVM Sheffield for the + 5 goals difference padding

They are definitely going down if they continue playing like this, was a stroll in the park really, so much so that the Emirates was emptying before full time

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

I know the "will it be worse than Derby's point total" is overused, but... man

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

I know eddie will get all the plaudits, and rightly so, but Declan Rice, game after game, week after week. What a player, man.

Saliba looked like a pro player subbing for in a sunday league game today too. Sheffield United were awful, he barely even had to jog. You know you're in the mud when the human victory hookah elneny gets a little 10 minute cameo.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Sheff United chasing Derby's 89 goal conceded in 38 game season record.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Nketiah continues to dab on the haters. He's even top goalscorer for Arsenal now! Think his ability to spin, turn and shoot is genuinely his greatest asset. Throw in his improved linkup play and you can see why Arteta still rates him.

Also just generally a good vibes match for Arsenal today. ESR starting and assisting a goal, Kiwior starting, Elneny coming on, Vieira and Tomiyasu scoring. That was fun!

It's incredible how bad Sheffield United were

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Conceding almost 3 goals a game on average now. Not great.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I know it's Sheffield, but I'm so happy for Eddie and Tomi!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

This was fun

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Elneny: 100% pass completion, 1 assist. The king is back!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

r/Gunners has pre-made apology forms if you want to fill one out. Jk. Gunners hate on Nketiah more than r/soccer

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Won't get much attention, but Havertz also had a very good performance. Only thing missing was the goal, and he almost got it too at the death.

Have a feeling that he's starting to get into his own, him also playing on his preferred right 8 role today.

Promising signs over-all

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Good win but Arteta constantly treading outside the technical area ruined all the fun for me, what a despicable, miserable character

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago (2 children)

On the brightside for Sheffield, their away kits look super fresh IMO.

Also, does their keeper look like Keegan-Michael Key (from Key and Peele) to anyone else?

Played like him too.

arteta bought havertz to displace odegaard

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Woo! This was such a relaxing match to watch. It didn't feel like Sheffield threatened at all. We were on cruise control. Arteta finally got around to some much needed rotation, with Smith-Rowe's first start in the PL this season.

Eddie's first hat-trick and will silence a lot of critics (myself included!). Goals for Tomiyasu and Viera are a plus.

Kiwior was solid. Such a boon to have reliable back up options.

The trick to not allowing a goal from the opponents first shot on target is not giving them a shot on target

Everyone referring to Sheffield United as Sheffield is probably triggering so many of their fans and it is completely unintentional.
