A warning and a small fine would be fair enough. I get people thinking it’s stupid to charge him, but hopefully it can act as a lesson to others

Fucking hell that's ridiculous. Getting banned from the stadium is understandable. Getting fucking charged? What a joke

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

To get banned from the stadiums you need a football banning order and for that to happen you need to be charged by the police it's really simple

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

I mean the kid is a disrespectful little cunt, sure.

But charging him is fucking bonkers

I never understood people who take sports to this extreme. I’m a Manchester United fan but I would never wish harm upon the guys from City. I just want United to win. With any sport I like, if a player from the other team is hurt, my first thought is that I hope they’re ok.

Name and shame when?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I agree with the club banning him from the stadium but the police charging him seems pretty ridiculous

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

The only way for such a ban to become enforceable is with a football banning order and the only way for that to happen is for the police to charge him so that he can be given said football banning order.

This country is fucked

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

fairly sure Sir Bobby himself wouldn’t want a 17 year old dragged through the court system for this

All the Americans with English flairs coming out in droves to talk about how free their country is is hilarious.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Free to shoot the fuck out of each other while screaming freedom

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Glad the comments also agree this is ridiculous, he deserves to be banned from coming to games, but charging him is too much of an overreaction. Teenagers say dumb shit

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

As many comments have pointed out, being charged is how they get the banning order.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

chants are classless and he should be banned for a few games, but charged? that’s bullshit

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Holy shit, you still do this back in the old world?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Someone should record a mob singing, "your Mummy's in a box" for this lad, then superglue bluetooth speakers into his ears at the funeral home when his passes. Show the little cunt what it's like.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Being banned from the stadium is correct.

I don't like to see the Government getting involved in this tho.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Kid needs a bit of a kicking, but charges?!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

authoritarianism is on the rise I see

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Can't get my head around how this became a Police matter lmao

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I assume this is just for an FBO, not sure why people are losing their minds over it.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

What happens when we sing "maggies in the mud" then.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

The guy’s an insensitive idiot, but how is this a crime?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Look super bad taste obviously but what the fuck?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

SoccerFootball is a religion. And this was blasphemy. Praise Alan! Shearer

Making fun of a dead person from your rival club is fucked up, but it's not prison worthy. A ban from the stadiums fits.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago

You can legally charge someone for singing insults? Especially a kid?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago

Bit of an overreaction, isn't it?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago

The UK is absolutely fucked.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Absurd you can get into jail for words. Im sure the government will never abuse this power.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

What jail is he going to? Let me know when he serves jail time.

Shocking how little people know about how the world works

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I mean somebody was cautioned for holding a blank piece of paper during the Queen's funeral, this is tepid if anything.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

the dystopia is already here

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Nobody was saying this about the fan with a '97' shirt getting nicked. It's a public order offence to sing 'tragedy chants' or have banners or symbols about the same. Lots of people have been and will be arrested for doing this sort of thing because the authorities don't want people goading one another into violence.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Get your hands off my PENIS!!!!

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago

Charged? Ridiculous

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago

That’s pretty harsh, what’s going on in the UK?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago

Thank god for 1776

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago

V for Vendetta coming to real near you soon.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago

Welcome to the beginning of the end lads. Next year we wont be allowed to chant about posh spice taking up the arse for fear of slander

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago

What a fucking horrible precedent to set. Utterly baffling. In no way shape or form do I condone the chanting of someone who’s dead, but my God this makes virtually no sense. Same people who probably gobble the nuts of the royal family that want to protect the legacy of a man who died of natural causes and make the life of a 17 year old miserable just to prove a point. Outrageous and insufferable.
