Nope. They were in 2nd division two years ago, then they were promoted and bought by Textor (Crystal Palace and Lyon owner). Still, there weren't many big investments, they just have been shocking this season. They even changed managers mid-season after Al-Nassr bought Luis Castro from them, and everyone thought they were going to lose the 1st position but they managed to stay there. It also helps that the favorite candidates (Flamengo and Palmeiras) also haven't been doing a great season. Their odds before the competition started were probably around 100 to win it
