The problem isn’t the technology, it’s the people making decisions with it having opinions on certain clubs, players, and likely in this case, race. Stamp that shit out of it already, officials need to be held accountable. Yes I’m talking to you Øvrebø you bald fuck.

I’m confused, are people thinking this should have been onsides?

Yeah I saw this image and wondered what I should be seeing that would make it a bad call. This is clearly offside, the rules of what body parts count have been the same for quite a while afaik. Before VAR this wouldn’t necessarily have been caught, but an alert linesman standing on the opposite sideline could also have seen his head poke out behind the defender and we’d congratulate him for catching it I think.

As an aside , this rule is stupid. It should be feet not torso. An offensive player leaning forward in anticipation of a pass should never have been grounds for offsides. The rule is absurd as it is currently interpreted.

Understand the point your making, but as a parent who runs the line.

You’re not going to see the feet when directly opposite very easily.

I’m normally quite good with body, but seeing whose feet are further ahead. Fuck that. Feet are tiny across the other side of the pitch.

The rules become the rules for everyone.
