Fine, I accept I am getting older and will finally adjust this setting away from 100%

I accepted it too but it looks awful on my 1440p screen. I wish we had Mac style scaling which looks crisp and solid no matter what the output res/internal res.

@darthsid My exact issue here. You can chose lesser scaling options, but it's still... Hurts the soul

Haha right with you there bud!

I owned a smaller 1440p monit for a long time. Set it to custom, 110% That was the sweet spot for me.

As a mac user with an Ultrawide -- mac can look shitty too (: You just gotta believe

Haha - I use BetterDisplay and it works like a charm on Mac, worth checking out!

As has become Lemmy tradition, I feel obligated to point out that most Linux desktop environments have pretty good scaling features and don't tend to make things blurry or break the UI when you scale things up a bit.

You are right but I’ll take on Linux the day I can do work on it (office suite and adobe suite)!!

No no... it's because I have a high DPI screen now. That's it. It's a hardware issue. I am not old.

@Hildegarde Yes. Yes, yes of course. That's the reason and problem! I knew it!

It's crazy how Windows STILL fucking sucks at scaling properly and handling high DPI screens. I regret getting 1440p for my Windows machine.

It's crazy how KDE is actually decent at scaling.

Early 40s here. I am so thankful for companies that do scaling in their UIs.

Just bought Bitwig (music production software) that has excellent scaling of its text and graphics and it's just heavenly
