Making an informed purchase is important.

When looking for these products, they never specify what their contents are. Yet, I am a very heavy suspicion they are just isopropyl alcohol.

Isopropyl alcohol will ruin your monitor.

They're just water and a mild detergent that's safe for the materials that monitors are made of. Or, just use a damp rag.

Get a bottle of distilled water for $1 and use a lint free cloth.

No they aren't using isopropyl alcohol. It's mainly water, a really low concentration of some sort of alcohol and a detergent. (at least the one I have)

Alcohol, Windex, lens cleaners all will ruin your monitor and many screens. Distilled water + a lint-free/microfiber cloth is all you need to clean your screens

New hypothesis:

Are "computer screen cleaner" products just rebranded distilled water?
