for me qbitorrent works without any issues on docker, what is the problem with it ?
I'm looking at it daily for .. erm 5 minutes? If you use gui like flood, that will consume more resources for few bells and whistles - it's a waste in my eyes.
Be more specific what does not work, what is your env (OS, etc etc).
I've already mentioned it other comments. It's running in an Arch VM. Purging it and reinstalling does not restore config files. According to one person here the configs are not only stored in ~/.config as the documentation says. On top of that, error messages for torrents are not shown in the UI, but in the log file - with a level of logging that is most undesirable.
Why use a whole ass vm just for a torrent client? You can use pre-built docker containers that works out of the box and with a lot less moving parts (aka things that can break).
FWIW, I run an rtorrent container in a home kube cluster. It mounts my data store as an nfs volume and runs flood in a sidecar container. I just use watch directories on the data store and have a cronjob running flexget to subscribe to torrent rss feeds. Notifications are done with the Pushbullet api.
Ouch , arch is not my area of expertise.
I could help with Debian installation or in docker.
I use qbittorent in docker as backend and run flood for frontend as a separate container works a charm.
I run the prepacked blob from my host so that I can share the VPN.
I probably check the Web UI once a week just to make sure things are running smoothly.

Lmao, can you even get less thankful? People developed that "shit software" in their free time and made it available for you to use it at zero cost
well, yes, we do.. but we tend to work to fix things so it does what it needs to do.. you are confusing your inability to fix things with "poor design of software"
If you don't want to self host your shit or get it fixed by somebody else, and trying to make that happen by acting like a entitled end-user, pay somebody to do it for you..
but if that all is too hard, start with not being a jerk first.

Poor design and bugs make bad software. I'm limited in both time and patience, which is why I'm asking for software that ain't shit. Simple as that. If not wanting to deal with poorly functioning software makes me entitled, then yeah...
If a FOSS-tard means that I encourage the use off FOSS because I believe it's a often the right way to go when it comes to privacy, freedom and all that jazz.. then, yes, I am a FOSS-tard.
I understand that you are attempting to be insulting. I will acknowledge that, if that makes you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.
We all want everything to work perfect all the time. You are not alone or special in that. Decades experience says otherwise. And from that same period of experience I can promise you that the FOSS-tards like me are equally as gifted in delivering shitty software as any other corp that sells closed-corporate-patent-pending quick hacks for $2000 a pop. Oracle calls them drivers, I call them "curious, and inoperable".
Like I said, spend money on somebody that can do it for you so you don't have to lose your patience, save some time so you can "experience" the rewards that you did not work or are interested in.
If you manage to regain your composure, and get all the bits and pieces of software working together so it does what you want, you might understand why we do what we do. And because you don't get that but choose to come her and and complain to others who do get it.. I will call entitled.

Being a FOSS-tard comes with an inability to understand criticism of software because it’s free (if you don’t value your time).
You obviously can’t handle a simple question of better alternatives than software that shits the bed, and judging by your response you’re deep in FOSS-tardedness.
And, no, expecting software to work, have sane configurations and clear documentation is not being entitled. It means valuing your time.

I don't believe you care to read, a reddit post, a response to your ramblings or a manual. You revert to insults, talking down to others and claiming it's appropriate because you want something.
Your expectations are not met, take it out on friends, not strangers. They might be more understanding.
I answer in kind and don’t mince words.
It took me all of 20 minutes to get qBittorrent, Radarr, Sonarr, and Prowlarr working in docker. And then another 10 minutes to add in the VPN container.
The important thing is that I left the GUI default because they work just fine, there is no need for different GUIs for any of it.

Congratulations, you know how to use Docker. I prefer not to deal with nested containers and configure things myself.

Transmission and then your normal *arr stack.
This is exactly what I did for awhile. I switched to qBittorrent just to try it out and I liked it enough I swapped everything from Transmission to qBittorrent. *arr stack still handles everything though.
Deluge, with ltConfig plugin for fast download speeds.
But Deluge is the problem I see, not you.
Qbittorrent-nox with vuetorrent has been great for me.
rtorrent as torrent client + rutorrent as webUI
Looks like a pain to setup, and rutorrent looks like it's straight from the 90's (and not in a good way).

What OS/install process are you using for qbittorrent?

if you are on mobile try to figure out how to set up vue - tip: set the path without the " / " at the end like this "/app/vuetorrent"
I am quite a fan of ruTorrent, have been using it for years.
There is a docker container available for it too.
The problem is you not the clients.
Yup - I daily drive Deluge but have had used QBt and Transmission. All features work, it's user error.
So, tell, what user error breaks the auto download window in Deluge web UI?
Known bug, by the way.
Transmission for me as I’ve always used it and it’s the only one I could get to update port forwarding through a put request when my vpn reconnects and the tunnelling port changes.
The nightly builds have been fairly stable for me running in a diet-pi vm.
It integrates nicely with flexget but equally as well with the arrs. I havn’t had any major problems. I havn’t heard of many that have.
Transmission has been rock solid for me. Give it another try.
qBitTorrent, but this time dont cover it in puke.
Transmission V4. I upgraded from 3 due to the software connection breaking after a few days. V4 has been good for a few weeks now
The solution for qbittorrent is quite simple really. Don't use alternative webUI. is it really that difficult? hmmm
